The days that you need a hug. Or to just bury your face in someone’s chest, or shoulder, and just hide there, and to have them hug you until whatever it is melts away.
But you can’t. Because asking for that is a sign that you need people. It’s a sign of weakness. You don’t need anyone. And even if you did, how would you ask for that, when you don’t even know what it is that needs to melt?
So you don’t ask. Because you don’t know how. Because you’re afraid to need. Because you’re afraid to be vulnerable. Because you’re afraid of not knowing why. Because you’ve been let down before.
